About
A Gloucester production hub that has helped broadcasters and venues plan and run live television since 2014, from studio systems to staged events.
A Gloucester hub built around live television
starvoix began in 2014 as a small production consultancy in Gloucester. It grew from a simple observation: live programmes go wrong where equipment, rooms and people are planned separately. We bring those parts together and stay with the job until it goes out cleanly.

Our base at Southgate Works holds the studio and workshop where we test equipment and prepare projects before they travel. Having a working space of our own means we can try a signal chain, hang a lighting plan or rehearse a camera layout before it reaches a client's building.
The team covers four areas that rarely sit in one place: production planning, broadcast engineering, acoustics and lighting. Helen Marsh leads production planning, Daniel Okafor designs the signal chains, Priya Shah measures and treats rooms, and Tom Whitaker plans the lighting. Each project draws on whichever of them it needs.
Our clients are broadcasters, venue managers and event producers. Some run a daily news desk, others stage a single concert or festival broadcast. The scale differs, but the questions are familiar: will every source arrive, will the presenters be heard, will the picture look right for hours.
We write things down. A plan, a quotation, a rehearsal log and a short review after the show are standard parts of our work. They give your crew something to follow on the day and something to improve from afterwards.
We also say plainly what we do not know. If a room needs a measurement before we can advise, we measure it. If a venue's power or network is uncertain, we ask for access to check it. Honest limits keep the plan realistic.
What our way of working means for you
Our habits are practical ones. They are meant to reduce the number of surprises on the day and make each production easier than the last.

One team across disciplines
Engineering, acoustics, lighting and production planning sit together, so a camera position is chosen with the light and the room in mind.

Testing before the broadcast
We rehearse with your presenters and operators so faults appear in the rehearsal room, not on air. Findings are logged and fixed.

Plain written records
Plans, quotations and review notes are written in clear language, so your crew can follow them without us in the room.
What guides the work from first visit to final show
Live television is unforgiving of small errors, and our principles come from that. They are not slogans for the wall; they shape how we plan, how we speak to a crew and how we behave when something does not go to plan. Each one shows up in specific habits during a project.
